Core Course Content

• Design Principles and Color Theory: Learn spatial proportion, visual balance, rhythm, and how to use color schemes to change the atmosphere of a space.
• Furniture Configuration and Circulation Planning: Master furniture size selection, floor plan drawing methods, and how to interpret floor plans (not computer-generated floor plans), and how to optimize circulation and functionality.
• Materials, Fabrics, and Surface Treatments: Understand the matching and mixing techniques for wall paints, various textiles, curtain styles, and flooring materials (such as carpets and tiles).
• Lighting and Soft Furnishings: Learn basic lighting planning (ambient light, accent light) and techniques for placing paintings, cushions, and artworks.
• Mood Boards and Proposal Creation: Practice creating mood boards using materials to effectively communicate design concepts to clients.
